If yes, your younger child can register under Phase 1 at the same school.

Understanding P1 Registration Phases

These rules apply from the 2027 P1 Registration Exercise. The 2026 exercise is not affected.

Phase 1

Early July

For children with a sibling currently studying in the same primary school. Guaranteed placement — no balloting.

Phase 2A(1)

Mid July

For children whose parent is an alumnus who joined the alumni association before the registration year.

Phase 2A(2)

Mid July

For children whose parent is a former student, a parent of a former student, or currently a staff member of the school.

Phase 2B

Late July

For children whose parent is a parent volunteer (min 40 hours), community leader, or endorsed by a church/clan associated with the school.

Phase 2C

Early August

Open to all children who have not secured a place in earlier phases. This is the most common phase for parents without prior affiliation. Phase 2C reserves 60 places, up from 40; schools with a P1 intake below 180 keep 40. At the 12 schools where public housing makes up under 40% of homes within 2km, Phase 2C also runs on a Two-Track scheme — living within 1km no longer ranks ahead of 1–2km.

Phase 2C Supplementary

Mid August

Final phase for children who did not get a place in Phase 2C. Limited to schools with remaining vacancies.
